Established in 2017, the Coalition to Heal Invisible Wounds (the “Coalition”) brings together leading non-profit organizations that seek to advance a comprehensive research-focused advocacy agenda to address the invisible wounds of war—post-traumatic stress (PTS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI)—as well as to address significant comorbid conditions such as pain and substance use disorders, all of which are known to dramatically increase the risk of suicide among Veterans and service members.
The Members
The Coalition members understand that many gaps exist that prevent the advancement of diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for the invisible wounds of war. The ultimate goal of the Coalition’s advocacy efforts is better treatments, improved quality of life, new cures, and a reduction in the rate of suicide among Veterans and service members. By doing so, we honor our responsibility as a nation to the sacrifices our Veterans and service members make in the name of freedom.
